Collection for acute aid to those flooded in Opava

Dear colleagues,
I allow myself to address you from Opava, which was hit by a gigantic flood on September 15 and 16, 2024, bigger than in 1997. Although the water has already drained from Opava, it left behind an absolutely disgusting, sticky and smelly mud that destroyed absolutely everything, on which perhaps even a microgram of the mud stuck.
About 12,000 flooded citizens of Opava are now struggling "for their souls" to get rid of all the mud and all the destroyed equipment of houses, apartments, furniture, doors, floors, refrigerators, washing machines, bedding - well, the list is perhaps endless.
The city of Opava, together with the Red Cross, has an account for immediate financial assistance to help manage the acute apocalyptic mess. Thank you in advance for all Opava people for helping us raise our city back from the mud.
